Hell
02:57
|
|||
I've heard it tell, I'm on my way to hell
For doing what I do, and acting like myself.
But, I don't mind, I'm feeling fine
And everyone I know says I'm a real good time.
I'm on my way to hell, I'm on my way to hell
I'm doing what I shouldn't and ruining my health
I'm on my way to hell, I'm on my way to hell
Heaven help me man, I'm on my way to hell
If you set them up, I can throw them back
So fast you'd probably like to have a heart attack.
I may stray, but I'm doing OK
And I wake up with a smile on my face every day
I'm on my way to hell, I'm on my way to hell
I'm breaking all the rules and ruining my health
I'm on my way to hell, I'm on my way to hell
Heaven help me man, I'm on my way to hell
When this whole thing passes I'll be smoke and ashes
But I just want to live before I die.
Send my soul down later on an escalator
But for now just throw more fuel on the fire
I'm on my way to hell, I'm on my way to hell
I'm smiling in the sunshine and I'm feeling swell
I'm on my way to hell, I'm on my way to hell
I'm burning up and happy on the way to hell
I'm on my way to hell, I'm on my way to hell
I'm breaking all the rules and ruining my health
I'm on my way to hell, I'm on my way to hell--
Help me, Jim Altieri, I'm on my way to hell.

Sad Surgeon
05:46
|
|||
The sad surgeon polished off his drink,
Sat up from his chair, and turned off the tv.
Padding up the stairs as quiet as can be.
Gotta keep the noise down low, the kids are still asleep.
Packing up his bags with bottles and with vials;
You need a steady hand, you need a steady hand, to navigate those trials
One for the road to lighten up my load;
One for the road to make you take it slow;
One for the road before I have to go;
One for the road to lighten up my load.
Tired of all the sick who come knocking on his door.
He patches them all up, but know that there'll be more.
And in the space between the knocks he always gets a chance to score.
Pour another drink, lighten up the tone, it's time to go home.

Two Separate Things
04:58
|
|||
I'm tired of all the excuses, I'm sick of all the lies
I'm done with all the abuses, your jive and your alibis
You said that you loved me truly
(When I drink I say all sorts of things)
You said that you'd buy me a diamond ring
But doing and saying are two separate things
Two separate things, not even the same league
Do what you say, say what you mean
Doing and saying are two separate things
Well, I don't need another monkey on my back,
And I don't want to see another good time turn bad
I've had about all the bad luck that a man can have
I'm not going back to that
I said that I loved you truly
(When you drink you say all sorts of things)
I said that I'd get you a diamond ring
Doing and saying are two separate things
It's funny how things keep moving forward
Time tends to dull the sting
What used to seem so important
Is now just a memory
I said that I loved you truly
And now we're as happy as can be
You said that you'd give a baby in the spring
Yeah, well, doing and saying are two separate things

On the Sea
03:43
|
|||
Out on the sea
Under a clear sky
I drift with ease
At the mercy of the currents
I dream of memories
A tussle of black hair
Far away from me
Out on the sea
Under the waves
bend back the sunshine
I see your face sometimes
When I sleep
Amid bales of tobacco
Soaked through with salt spray
I miss you every day
Under the waves

Ambrose
02:40
|
|||
Ambrose tower is blinking out in the night
Bridging the gap, as ships pass
North to Boston from New York
And I am a damaged buoy
Sinking alone in the harbor
No one uses me as a reference point
Neither from port nor from starboard.

Tatters & Rags Brooklyn, New York
Brooklyn post-punk skronky-tonkers Tatters & Rags tackle familiar themes of heartache, loneliness, and the bottle, but with a love for the traditional fable that suggests Harlan Howard on a bender with the Brothers Grimm.
